Fall Favorites

October has broken me down in many ways--but as the horrors persist, so do we.

ENJOYING:

Writing during the evenings at the local library
Blankets
The leaves changing
Iced chais from Wawa
Night walks with my sister (wishing the weather would drop and STAY COLD already)

READING:

"A Faith of Many Rooms" by Debie Thomas-- an imaginative musing on God's expansiveness and belonging, sort of a memoir but not exactly? Very interesting to read about her dual evangelical upbringing (the specific faith practice in India that she grew up with is believed to have originated from the apostle Thomas, making it older than the colonized Christianity in the U.S).

WATCHING (OR JUST FINISHED WATCHING):

"Beauty Inside" - just finished; a Korean drama with a wild premise but a surprisingly sincere, funny and romantic message about the self, identity, and what it means to be truly seen by another person. The friendships in this series were also top tier.
"Dancing with the Stars season 33" - we just lost one of the couples I was voting for (Jenn & Sasha, whose Viennese Waltz and Paso are some of my favorite dances of the season). Guess I'm all in for Chandler & Brandon now (her Rumba, Cha-Cha, and Paso all slayed).
"GO Into Your Heart" - currently watching; a Chinese drama about a Go player falling in love with a reporter. Very sweet couple, pleasantly devoid of the usual tropes of the ML being a jerk or the FL being dumb and infantilized; plus the Go matches are designed like martial arts battles which is super cool.
