Songs To Cry To (That Aren't Taylor Swift)

Hey friends! If you're like me, you cry at all kinds of things: commercials, movies, kind gestures from strangers, poems, and especially music. Taylor Swift has kept the monopoly on sad songs for a while, but there are so many gems out there written and sung by other people...so I thought I'd share some of my favorites with you!
  • If you're in the mood for something more chill: "My Thoughts On You" by The Band Camino

  • If you want to yell out your car window while crying: "I'd Hate To Be You When People Find Out What This Song Is About" by Mayday Parade

  • If you're in the mood for a classic: "Slow Dancing In a Burning Room" by John Mayer

  • If you dyed your hair black & wore way too much eyeliner in high school: "The Last Song I'm Wasting On You" by Evanescence (NOTE: may be triggering if you've been abused)

  • If you cry when your favorite characters die on TV shows: "Forever and Always" by Parachute

  • If you took poetry classes for fun in college: "Left" by Nellie Veitenheimer

  • If you want to cry over someone else's sad story for a change: "Heaven's Not Too Far" by We Three

  • If your relationship is ending and you both know it but it still hurts: "Rainy Season" by Hunter Hayes

  • If you're in the mood for a country song: "Secondhand Smoke" by Kelsea Ballerini

  • If you're still not 'over' them even though you should be: "Cheating on U" by Lacy Cavalier

  • If you're a theatre kid: "Perfect Home" from The CiviliTy of Albert Cashier

  • The Marianas Trench song because how I could make this list without one: "So Soon" by Marianas Trench

  • Another Marianas Trench song but this one is triggering for those with eating disorders so tread carefully please: "Skin and Bones" by Marianas Trench
