Personal Top 10 Sporcle Quizzes
If you didn't know, I love Sporcle quizzes. I am a terrible typist who mainly uses my index fingers and thumbs, so doing these quizzes helps me learn to type quickly with correct spelling while also exercising my brain...okay so that's just what I tell myself. Mainly, doing these quizzes is fun and tests my memory of things, and I enjoy that. Here I've listed ten of my favorite ones to do (although there are thousands of quizzes available for every type of interest).
- Top 200 Characters in the Harry Potter Series by Number of Mentions THIS IS HARDER THAN YOU THINK. Pro tip: if you type in a last name, it will fill in everyone with that last name (like if you type "Weasley" instead of "Ron Weasley" you get all of 'em) so that's a good way to get a head start and buy yourself time to try and remember the harder ones.
- Name the Contestants of America's Next Top Model from Cycles 1-22 This one is majorly fun but majorly frustrating because spellings aren't combined. If you didn't know all the ways to spell Jennifer, you will after this quiz.
- Specific artists' songs by album (the ones I frequent the most are probably Taylor Swift, Little Mix, One Direction, Avril Lavigne but you can probably find whichever artist you like).
- Top 1000 Baby Names That are Also Shakespeare Characters (from 2010 U.S. census). SO FUN for English and Theatre nerds!!!
- 300 Most Popular Common Nouns Used as Names for Baby Girls (from 2012 U.S. census) and the 300 Most Popular Common Nouns Used as Names for Baby Boys (from 2012 U.S. census). Some of the names on the Girls list apparently qualify as common nouns even though I don't know how Abigail and Charlotte fit that criteria, but I think that list is somewhat easier because of all the jewel/flower/virtue names. The Boys name list is also easier once you get the hang of it, but it definitely works your brain.
- 200 Most Populous Cities and Towns in the United States (from 2010 census)
- The Episodes of Friends Pro tip: you don't have to type out the whole thing! You can type "The Routine" instead of "The One with the Routine", but if the title includes the word "where", such as "Where Rachel ____", then you have to include that word. ALSO, if it's not taking something that starts with "Ross's", try deleting the second s (or adding one).
- Top 100+ Characters from Avatar: the Last Airbender HARDER THAN YOU THINK. Also, they spell Meng's name as Mang so I'll give you that one for free.
- Name the Artists Listed in VH1's 100 Greatest Songs of the '90s (also the '80s and 2000s) I always feel so confident at the beginning of this quiz and then I slowly get less confident as it goes on, haha.
- Name the Contestants from Seasons 1-25 of Dancing with the Stars A few weeks ago, I finally was able to get a perfect score on this list and I was so happy! Like the Harry Potter quiz, it will take anyone with the last name you type in, so I recommend typing only last names to help beat the clock.
